FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bowline Products Introduces the Gorilla Locking Rod Rack

Delray Beach, Florida, November 7, 2003. We have all done it – that nervous glance over your shoulder as you leave your boat, your prized fishing rods proudly displayed in the rod holders. The sad truth is that a potential thief may be just steps away. And whether you are tied up at a waterway eatery for a bite to eat, berthed overnight for a quiet island getaway, or even waiting at a traffic light while trailering your boat home after a day of fishing, that thief could be on and off your boat with your rods in hand in the time it has taken you to read this paragraph.

An innovative company in Delray Beach, Florida has come up with a solution: the Gorilla Locking Rod Rack. Developed and manufactured by Bowline Products, the Gorilla Locking Rod Rack does not look that revolutionary at first glance. But look again.

The subtle contours of the rack's main body, designed after extensive study of more than 300 different reels, serve a vital purpose. Like a conventional rod rack, Gorilla can keep up to four rods stowed securely yet easily accessible. But once the tough stainless steel locking bar is slipped into place, rods and reels cannot be removed from the rack. And because of the clever configuration, reel mounting hardware cannot be accessed, preventing removal of the reel from the rod. Of course, the mounting screws for the rack itself are also concealed, preventing a would-be thief from simply removing the rack.

Requiring only slightly more mounting space than a conventional rod rack, the Gorilla Locking Rod Rack will accommodate everything from small casting combos to large trolling gear such as the Penn International 50-wide. The rack's main body and locking components are marine grade aluminum and stainless steel. Durable thick thermoplastics, applied as part of a proprietary 7-step coating process, protect fishing gear from chafes and dings and minimize noise and corrosion.

Bowline Products will soon be expanding the product line to offer a 2-rod model, perfect for under-gunwale storage, and a 4-rod rack for spinning reels. For additional information and a list of retailers, see www.gorillarodrack.com
